Brussels, Belguim and a reunion with Maureen Haggard

The Beijinhof Department Store in Amsterdam.  (This was the Nazi Headquarters during the occupation of Belgium during WWII)

The Christmas Market in Aachen, Germany.

Gluvine with a shot of Amareto or Rum

Belgium waffles. The best ever! (According to Kit who had them last Christmas) and we agree.

Dinner out with Maureen and her friends turned into a real soap opera with two couples behind us. Catherine and I needed to do a selfie for me to be able to see what whas going on. One woman (From Norway ) gave another woman at another table (from Finland) her precious Viking fertility rock soshe could get pregnant and the couple burst into tears.

Dam Square and area nativity scenes. The one with the pig in the place of baby Jesus is quite strange.

Scenes from the St. Nickolas Day Parade with St. Nicholas accompanied by two "Black Petes". This is quite controversial in the Netherlands and Belgium. The countries are very divided as to whether this tradition should continue as many people view it as racially offensive. The black Pete puts naughty kids in bags to punish them... or so the story began.

The little Manekin Pis is dressed like St. Nicholas for December 6, St. Nicholas Day.

More parade scenes with Black Pete.

The Christams tree from Riga in the Grand Place.

More from the Christmas Market in Aachen,Germany.

Maureen, Jess, Catherine, and Dew - all friends enjoying the Chrismas Market with us.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site in Aauchen, German. The catherdral where Charlemane
 is buried (800 AD)
