Sydney, AU - Day 2 and 3

Our first days have been great. Our apratment location is just dandy. We are close to the ferries, trains, trams, and buses. These are all included in a weekly pass. We are also a fifteen minute walk to Darling Harbour which is the site of so many activities, restaurants, and entertainment.

Last night we had a tasty pizza and salad on the harbour at Eat, Love, Pizza.  We again sampled several local beers.  We are just sure we will be able to recommend great Australian beers for you folks at home.  The fireworks to celebrate Sydney Fest were well worth waiting for. They know how to do fireworks!

This morning we made the scones we had at the mission house in NZ. They turned out great and I highly recommend you give them a try.  There is a recipe on line but we just used 2 cups of self rising flour, 1/2 cup each of heavy cream and 1/2 cup sugar free lemonaide.  They were light and delish.  Tom insisted on beating (by hand) the remaining cream to put on his scone.

We saw Gravity today at the IMAX. It was fun to see that movie on that large screenin 3D.  I can see why it got so many Golden Globe awards.

We also jumped on a ferry and took it west of the harbour to the end of the line at Parramata.  The scenery included many many small harbours and it was interesting to see all of the sail boats too. Later this week we will take it east to Manly Beach, Watson Bay and to Bondi beach.  It is a great way to travel.
