January 4 , Tom had a stroke and was at Aurora Bay Care for 5 days. He had his arotid artery opened and “scrubbed” and was released twelve days before we left. His doctors all advised us not to cancel our plans and when he saw the surgeon four days before we left, she gave us the green light.
After two days with Gwen, Ramon and Joseph, we flew from Portland, OR to Honolulu on Monday, January 22. The flight was direct on Hawaiian Airlines and it took about 5 1/2 hours. Took our first UBER to our condo At the Aqua Monarch a block off Waikiki beach.
