Immigration Museum, Victoria State Library and Cricket

This is a sign on Collins Street, the Street we are staying on.  It talks about how the people all walked the block on Collins on Saturdays. Nothing was planned during the afternoon, as everyone would be out walking down the most fashionable street in Melbourne. Most of these buildings are still on Collins.

A sign in the Myer Department Store.

A beautiful watercolor of the Immigration Building.  Nope, I surely did not do this one.

A photo of the Immigration Building, now a wonderful museum.

A cartoon in the Immigration Museum. My dad asked me if they still say "FAir Dinkum" as he remembered. Yes, Dad, here is proof!

  1. My favorite in this batch is the library...I could stay there all day and revel in the beauty. Also St. Patrick's Cathedral. I am recently realizing the power of sacred places. And I love the photo of my sweet sister Pat in the gardens and her inspired art work. Where did you find time to paint while touring? Hellers, you have set a new standard for travel this trip!!!

  2. Wow, you guys have really been on the go! The Captain Cook house looks like an interesting place. It must have been a big effort to move his house from England! Nice watercolors, Gramsy!
