More of Copenhagen - The Royal Library, and a day trip with Marianne along the coast, north of the city

A map of Copenhagen. Our hotel, The Savoy is located in the Vesterbro area.

This is hand knit on a electric pole in Copenhagen.

A funny sign in the window.

One of many canals. This one is on the way to the Royal Library.

Outside the museum of statuary.

This is a 1603 globe.  There were original works (hand written by them) of Kierkgaard, Ibsen, Tolstoy, a Gutenberg Bible ( 1454), A Chinese scroll (800) , Dante's Divine Comedy (1300), Hans Christian Andersen ( 1805-1875), A Letter from Mozart (1791), Letter from Ghandi (1936),
Post cards from Matisse, and a map of Copenhagen from 1603.

This is the new part of the Royal Library which is located next to the 1906 Library.

  1. A guided tour with Marianne...how lovely. Is the Kronberg Castle where the King and Queen live? The Royal Library must have been fantastic with all of those original books by such famous authors. It looks a wee bit chilly -- or at least damp.
But your smiling faces say that it's okay!

  2. The queen lives at the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen. Kronberg is a museum now with striking views of Sweden!

  3. Your list of things you saw at that museum was kind of unbelievable! So many cool, old, old things! what fun! Makes the Social Studies teacher in me kind of get the shivers! :)
